Exhibitions
The house lights dim, the music starts, and the audience enthusiastically welcomes the performing pair to center stage. The featured act is the ballet between horse and rider as they move as one to the rhythm of the music playing. It is grace personified and it is exemplary classical dressage.
I love to perform exhibitions because it provides an opportunity to have fun with my horses. Competition requires a high degree of thoroughness and precision. The horses must be so responsive that they can perform to the letter - literally! But in exhibitions, we can be more playful, and I can allow the horse to offer his own expression.
